GE.S.A.C. S.p.A. – Gestione Servizi Aeroporti Campani – is the management company for the Naples and Salerno airports, entrusted with a total management concession for both airports until 2045.
In 2022, Naples Airport recorded 10.9 million passengers, ranking fourth in Italy for passenger traffic and, for six consecutive months (April-September), first in Europe for growth rate in the 10-25 million passengers/year category.
During the year, the flight offering was enriched with new destinations compared to the pre-Covid period, bringing the number of destinations reachable by direct flight from Naples to 113, of which 16 national and 97 international, including the main hubs (New York/Newark, Munich, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Istanbul, Madrid, and Dubai).
In line with the sustainable development of the airport, GESAC has focused on qualitative traffic growth by encouraging the use of latest-generation aircraft with lower environmental impact.
The commitment to sustainability has rewarded the Neapolitan airport, which, in December 2022, obtained Level 4+ Transition of the Airport Carbon Accreditation Programme of ACI Europe: the highest environmental certification in the airport sector, recognized for only 18 airport management companies worldwide.
During the year, interventions were initiated to improve operational efficiency and energy efficiency, while at Salerno, work is underway on the construction of the new runway, the design activities for the new passenger terminal, and the new general aviation terminal. The works, based on the highest environmental sustainability criteria, will allow commercial traffic to open in 2024 and will make Salerno one of the greenest airports in Europe.No review yetBe the first to write one
