Cast Iron CAD Ltd is a product engineering practice in Brighton & Hove that takes physical products from concept through design and engineering into manufacture. The practice is engineer-led, with in-house specialism in plastics and metals and a defined manufacturing handover (production drawings, BOM, DFM-validated CAD, supplier engagement and first-article inspection). Founder and Technical Director Dave Lock has over 25 years in product engineering and has delivered 280+ products through Cast Iron CAD over 15 years. He lectures for the Product Design and Engineering courses at the University of Brighton and is an Industrial Advisory Board member (EDIAB). Cast Iron CAD serves SMEs, funded startups and crowdfunding creators across Sussex and the South East, and operates the Innovate Engineer and Primed.Design supporting practices.
