StoryWe are Format Design. Since 1998, from our Hamburg studio, we have been shaping clear, resilient visual identities. What began as a focused practice grew into a small team obsessed with craft, clarity and systems. Early on we learned to translate complex organisations into simple, recognisable marks and rules that survive across print and screens. Meeting tight briefs, changing technologies and evolving client needs taught us discipline: research-led concepts, rigorous refinement and pragmatic application. Those challenges shaped our collaborative process — honest, detail-driven and purposefully restrained. Today we still get the same thrill when a visual system clicks into place: it means a brand can finally be understood and remembered.
