GROSSE8 - an awarded creative agency for film, animation, installation and scenography.
We are a transdisciplinary team of designers, engineers, directors, musicians, filmmakers, concept developers, and producers. Motivated and united by the idea of inspiring, informing, surprising, or astonishing our audience.
The creative duo Stephan Müller and Joerg Thommes realized numerous music videos, commercials, and industrial films even before GROSSE8 was founded. With worldwide live performances as VJs, they made a name for themselves, particularly in the Asian region, under the synonym Lichtfront.
With the founding of the design studio GROSSE8, both focused more strongly on the tension between video and space, or moving objects, with great interest: breaking down the rigid video format and free projection onto other objects created real added value and surprising effects.
Since then, GROSSE8's conceptual endeavor has been to redefine existing technical boundaries and to test, combine, and use new technical developments for innovative productions.
From this design understanding, today's GROSSE8 disciplines of film, motion design, physical computing, and virtual reality have emerged. Many of GROSSE8's works are the result of transdisciplinary collaboration – a never-ending source of motivation and inspiration.21 people in their team
