Creative Director, Richard Chambers, operated as a freelancer for many years alongside his career in marketing, communications and graphic design departments for companies, within creative agencies and the leisure, food and charity sectors.
From those simple beginnings an inherent belief was born, that our clients’ needs inform the direction of our business and that we exist to serve those needs. This dedication to our clients, their brands and their businesses lead to a steady rise in the number of clients working with Richard and his services were recommended from company to company. Design Chambers then kicked the doors open a little more and Richard left his job to operate Design Chambers full-time.
The Design Chambers team and wealth of skills continued to expand to include expertise in brand identity, logo design, creative design, illustration, web design and development, marketing, editorial and PR.

The foundation and philosophy for Design Chambers was born in those early days of freelancing. Whilst advancing his career Richard remained insistent that Design Chambers clients would receive not just creative end results but a high level of customer service along the way, we differ from other agencies as this philosophy
is still at the core of what we do everyday.
Our clients’ needs are fully explored before embarking upon any project, internal capabilities discussed and a suitable fit found. For larger companies and charities this may mean working alongside brand champions to maintain or extend the integrity of the brand, for smaller companies and charities our services could involve
working alongside marketing departments or working as an ‘external in-house’ agency.
We focus on providing quality ideas and have a passion for creating eye-catching design. The Design Chambers team encourages clients to highlight their needs, wants and desires for each project and listens to their short through to long-term business aims, suggesting cost-effective solutions from a creative angle. Every client has unique needs, therefore so are the solutions we put in place. Whilst being a modern and forward thinking agency our ethos is traditional, to treat others as we would wish to be treated ourselves. Our team has valuable experience within a variety of sectors spanning business and third sector. Our cross-section of experience ensures that whilst we may understand how a sector works in order to support our clients, our experience within other sectors enables us to offer a rounded response.
We have worked with clients in sectors including, but not exhaustively; animal welfare, building services, charity, education, engineering, film, food, leisure, local government, museum, music, outdoor pursuits, retail, social care and transport.
Our skills include name creation, branding, logo design, print design, corporate identity and guidelines, web design, e-mail marketing, large format design, photography,
video production and project management.
Where we are not able to provide a service in-house we use tried and tested colleagues with whom we have long-term relationships.

Design Chambers’ works with clients who have established themselves within their industry and who are ina growth period or aiming for growth or change, through to clients setting up or developing smaller scale businesses, charities or creating side projects. Our typical client comes to us with a brand they are loyal to as it has provided success but with which they are now seeing ever more obvious inconsistencies between what they currently portray and the future of the brand. We help our clients to identify the strengths of their brand and decide what elements should be retained and which ones need to be changed completely.
An ever-increasing number of our clients are from the charity and not-for-profit sectors, we therefore understand the importance of high return on investment, we work on the premise that good design does not have to be expensive but that poor design is costly.
All design files are provided to our clients in a format that allows basic marketing to be produced in-house. It is important that we fully understand the impact you want our work to have, who your audiences are, what your history and future plans are and ultimately what your success criteria are. This information is best explored
