Experiential Marketing - emotionally connecting brands with customers.

Metro

Metro are official sponsors of The Color Run, Run to the Beat &amp; Rough Runner. We have been working with Metro to create an experience that could take place at 7 events this year, which positively engaged with the target audience bringing the Metro brand to life. The aim has been to entice new readers and encourage current readers to pick up the Metro more regularly.  The campaign we delivered was designed to appeal to both participants and supporters. Our experiential insight – ‘Everyone has a great story to tell. Metro is at the heart of conversations, capturing, sharing and amplifying great moments and great stories’.  To tap into this concept participants were encouraged to get more from the events, and share their special event moment via social media. Putting Metro at the conversational heart of all the events.  We did this by creating an exciting experiential zone in the main arena by the finish line and we installed a huge Selfie Mirror and a chill out space. Free sweets were also on offer from our oversized jelly bean dispensers, to give everybody an energy boost.  People were invited to be a ‘Metro Star’ and take a personal or group Selfie via our full length Selfie Mirror. Photos were then shared with a Metro branded overlay on Facebook or Twitter instantly from the event. With a physical photo printed as a memento of the day, so nobody left empty handed.  This was able to amplify Metro’s involvement with the events and celebrate the positive stories and moments created on the day. The content was then made available to Metro to use editorially or in commercial space.  To drive involvement and increase uptake of the Metro, luxury spa breaks were offered as prizes to all people who got involved at each event. Prize winners were announced in the Monday paper following the event in order to encourage people to get involved, and to pick up the paper to see if they were mentioned as a winner.  The campaign delivered a stand out experiential activity relevant to the events, creating a positive reason for participants and supporters to engage with Metro. We brought the Metro brand to life and delivered some great results, while enticing readers in, and encouraging increased uptake of the Metro newspaper.
